Nounou – a lifelong nickname of the designer – is where ephemeral inspirations have taken shape in an exciting reality. Based on the designer’s childhood memories which were rich with nostalgic snapshots of summer holidays spent on the Cornish beaches; buckets & spades, rock pools, seagulls, picnics, all gently steered by her sun-kissed French/Italian mother, wearing a bikini that epitomizes the carefree vibes of the ‘70s. The concept of Nounou is inspired by those distant holidays and sweetly faded memories of her mother, Zoé, in her cotton bikini.
Collaborating with Bodywear Lab’s expert design team we imagined a swimwear collection that aims to protect our oceans whilst celebrating artisan techniques and effortless style. We have supported Nounou throughout the entire creative process – From the small seeds of a design concept to the full bloom of unique stitch finishes, the Bodywear Lab team has helped bring Nounou’s designs to life whilst creating the capability to be a sustainability-led brand. We created a stretch jersey range and a complimentary woven organic cotton range which are soft on your skin and easy on the planet. The woven range uses a unique dye concept where all garments are dip dyed at a specialist local dye house before returning home for the final bespoke shell-shaped hardware additions.

With their continued love and support, Nounou is on its way to becoming a brand of tomorrow by changing the game and making our own rules according to how we envision the world. Our entire production process was conducted in London, the UK with a focus on considered craftsmanship and distinctive design elements so you can truly feel extraordinary every time you slip on a Nounou swim piece.
