Established in 1984, famed extreme sports filmmaker and professional skier Thierry Donard created designs tailored for his team. The freeride skiers and surfers then used these designs for his film production company, La Nuit de la Glisse. Drawing on his personal experiences, Donard created designs characterised by quality and style whilst allowing for performance enhancement and an active lifestyle, focusing on the goal of every athlete; to experience that Perfect Moment.
The cult activewear brand embodies a retro aesthetic with the form and function in mind for each design in the various sporting domains.
Perfect Moment is an established and notable brand with whom the BodywearLab team has worked closely. The Perfect Moment team approached us with a vision of diversifying their product portfolio by adding a new swimwear line. It was important to them that this collection was innovative and exclusive whilst being designed and produced in London.
Our team focused on strengthening Perfect Moment’s product range by utilising popular vintage shapes and bright neons from the 70s. Hoping to attract a younger demographic, our design team decided to innovate further and make each piece of the collection reversible with high-shine, reflective, metallic, and graphic stripes. This was both more environmentally conscious as well as more affordable.

The final piece of the design puzzle for Perfect Moment’s reversible swim collection was the label placement. As the swimwear is reversible, the labels needed to be heat pressed, but also needed to match the designs of the swimwear since they were to be on show. Opting for the brand’s signature star icon, the team was able to incorporate the necessary branding into the designs without compromising on style.
Choosing to use luxury fabrics containing recycled materials and expanding their size range from XS to XL, Perfect Moment’s debut swim collection resulted in a very successful sell-through of the collection.
